Dominique Strauss-Kahn Case

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), was arrested for attempted rape, sexual assault, and forcible confinement while trying to leave the United States. The allegations were made by a maid who stated that Strauss-Kahn’s actions occurred after she arrived to clean the hotel room in which he was staying at the Sofitel New York Hotel.
He was removed from an Air France flight later that day and arrested. Strauss-Kahn has not yet entered a plea, but he is expected to appear in court on May 20, 2011. Anne Sinclair, the third wife of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, has issued a statement of confidence in her husband’s innocence on all charges.
Strauss-Kahn is a Frenchborn member of France’s Socialist Party. He has held various positions of financial ministry, including Finance and Economy Minister of France. He has been the Managing Director of the IMF since 2007. Strauss-Kahn has four daughters and shares homes in Washington, D.C., France, and Morocco with his wife.
