Human error is what caused the Big Google Bug this saturday morning. Google is working with non-profit organization Stopbadware.org and human error was the problem.

Marissa Mayer, VP Search & User Experience has just written a blog post on official google blog.

This morning all google search results were linking to the page “This site may harm your computer”

Google maintains a list of malicious websites (badware, malware,…) and receive regular updates to do with this list. One of the URL of ‘/’ was mistakenly checked (human error) in as a value to the file and ‘/’ expands to all URLs.

Google Bug lasted for about 1 hour.

This scenario could certainly be adapted to the screen in the coming years. There’s just so much to say about the history of this company, which is one of the Web’s oldest sites.

After the takeover of Google, which failed in its infancy, Yahoo is back stronger than ever — in the media, at least.

I hope, at least for them, that they will make the right decision.

First came the offer to purchase Microsoft two months ago.

Then, a few days ago, Microsoft issued an ultimatum: the initial offer of a partnership could turn into a hostile takeover.

Yahoo did not appreciate that, and with today’s news, the dice are being thrown again.

So now, News Corp (which owns MySpace) and Microsoft are in the process of joining together to acquire the portal.

Also, Yahoo announced that it will begin to integrate Google-sponsored links in its test search results.

Yahoo is a mature brand and is in the lead. The goal, of course, is to raise the stakes and create action on the stock exchange.

But it doesn’t stop there. A partnership with AOL is also being considered: Yahoo could, in exchange for 20% of its capital, acquire Time Warner’s AOL.

However, all of this is in the midst of speculation, and it’s a bit of a war.

Hopefully, the final choice will be interesting and satisfying to the end-user.

Pizza.com was sold a few days ago for $2.6 million to Sedo, the leader of the sale of domain names.

Its owner, Chris Clark, 43, bought the domain www.pizza.com in 1994 for $20. Those were the very early days of the Web.

Clark hoped to get a big contract with a pizza consulting company, but it never happened. Clark then sold his company in 2000, but not the domain name.

After realizing that the site vodka.com had sold for $3 million in December 2006, Clark thought, “Why not me?” So, he decided to put his site up for sale on Sedo.

The auction began 10 days ago, on March 27, at $100. A week later, the offer was increased to $2.6 million.

We do not know the buyer’s identity, but it’s no doubt that technology firms are constantly monitoring domain names on Sedo.

Internationally, sales of domain names are increasing, at least temporarily when this type of event occurs. Although today it is still possible to make money by selling domain names, I can assure you: all generic names are already taken, and have been for years -)

But I’m not sure about France. Its success in France remains to be seen, largely because there are already tons of big players in the classifieds ad sector.

Also with this web design coming directly from 90′s, will it succeed in French language?

The Ask Office in Pisa, Italy is not a joke.

Employees (that come from Italy, France, Lithuania and Hungary) are working in a 14th century Tuscan palace in Pisa.

Director of Pisa Office Antonio Gulli explains the choice of Pisa:

“Pisa has one of the most prestigious Engineering and Computer Science Universities in Europe. Therefore, Ask has access to much talent for both our local and remote offices. In addition, Pisa is located in Tuscany, a region loved by many people for the food, the wine, and the quality of life. Pisa is connected with New York JFK by a 7-hour direct flight and the airport is 20 minutes walking distance from the office.”

Pisa’s Office is former Palace Gambacorti, on Corso Italia. It was built in the 14th century and was the home of the Gambacortis, Pisa’s most powerful family. Henry VII stayed in the palace, as did Charles IV of Luxembourg.

“The new office is GORGEOUS even for Italian standards”

Check these photos, I guess you will like to apply for a job:

A new scandal is just spreading on the World Web and with the peak of weblogs, news are coming to everybody at an exponential speed.

And guess what : Google loves these kind of requests about Buzz, especially in a situation like this one. Laure Manaudou, a french top swimmer very famous in France. Laure Manaudou’s stolen nude pics are everywhere on the web. Photos come from a cell phone video. Luca Marin, ex boyfriend of Manaudou says it’s not him who put pictures on the web even if we know that….ok, you see.

Several french weblogs played the game: Chauffeur de Buzz, whose funny video on Youtube is one of the most viewed (congrats Otto, who is a friend of mine)… and now Vincent Abry (hum? what?!).

If we compare the Buzz with Google Trends between Laure Manaudou and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, we can see Manaudou’s nude photos is HUGE.

But Laure Manaudou and her lawyers have already stop the Buzz : they said they are going to take legal actions on all blogs that post the nude pics of Manaudou.

In a couple of hours, most of the pics have disappeared of the french blogosphere!!

So we know that the Sarkozy Bruni Buzz will be the winner with time because a wedding is coming soon.

However Manoudou sexy nude pics are still sent by email and it’s not very hard to still find them on the non-french web.

And Yes I saw the pictures, they are beautiful. I know it is very hard for Laure and it is a very bad timing, but like all the Buzz, Time will erase them from people’s mind.

To conclude, let’s watch a video dedicated to Manaudou, this big french champion:

(Laure Manodou’s Video)

Wow that’s pretty cool to make a 200$ donation and then receive the XO-1 Laptop for only 200$ (a $399 donation, $200 of which is tax-deductible).

I think it’s a wonderful gift for Christmas that people can do.

Think about it : you give for disadvantaged child in a developing nation, and you also receive your christmas gift.

The first countries to place big orders for the XO laptops were Uruguay and Mongolia. Today we learn that Peruvian government has signed a contract to purchase 260,000 units and Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim has ordered 50,000 laptops for distribution in Mexico..

To date donations to the “Give one, Get one” offer are about $2 million per day.

To learn more and participate in the Give One Get One program, go now to http://www.laptopgiving.org or call 1-877-70-LAPTOP (1-877-705-2786).

I am just considering to give one buy one (for my son) for Christmas. I have to convince my wife!

For those wondering what are the Technical Specs of the Xo Computer.

Video of the XO laptop “Give one, Get one” program :

A Florida based company is launching the very first Safe Sex Passport that guarantees you that the person you meet online has no sexually transmitted disease (STD) like HIV, genital herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis.

The service is for people who are registered on dating websites.

To get your card you go to an affiliate laboratory and take the tests. Your results are sent by the lab to Safe Sex Passport (SSP) that gives you your passport.

“If you want to meet someone online, they can call a phone number and get the test results and test date for you, plus identification information so that they know for sure that you are really the person who was tested. In the old days, you had to take someone’s word for it when they said they had been tested and were in the clear. Now you can ask for proof.”

Safe Sex Passport has already 15 000 registered users and many dating websites expressed an interest in the service.

Official Launch: December 1. European launch: first quarter 2008.

A very lucrative business for SSP : it will cost you $ 300 for 6 months ($ 274 for renewals) !

At this costs, singles have to plan a special “dating” Budget.

With this Sex Card, are people going to get “crazy” or more responsibles ? Both I think
